Robbery and Burglary are considered violent crimes and each carry stiff penalties if convicted.

Aggravated Robbery, a Felony of the 1st Degree, consists of attempting to or committing a theft offense while having a deadly weapon under your control, having a dangerous ordinance under your control, and inflicting or attempting to inflict serious physical harm on the alleged victim. Robbery, a Felony of the 2nd degree, consists of attempting to or committing a theft offense, while having a deadly weapon under your control, inflicting harm or threatening another with harm, and using force or threat of force against the alleged victim. This carries 2-8 years in prison and up to $15,000 in fines. If certain circumstances are present, robbery charges can be filed as a felony of the 3rd or 4th degree.

Aggravated Burglary, a Felony of the 1st degree, is Burglary plus inflicting or attempting to inflict physical harm on another or having a deadly weapon under your control while committing the burglary. This carries 3-11 years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines.

Burglary, a Felony of the 2nd degree, consists of using force, stealth, or deception to trespass in an occupied structure when another person is present, with the purpose to commit any criminal offense. This carries 2-8 years in prison and up to $15,000 in fines.
