Emily Anstaett
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Emily D. Anstaett began her career in public service in Washington, D.C., but ultimately moved home to Columbus for law school and to serve her community. Emily joined Hayes Law as an associate attorney in 2019 and immediately began making an impact on cases.
Emily Anstaett developed her passion for criminal defense and her desire to be in court while interning at the Franklin County Public Defender’s office in law school. By also working at the Office of the Ohio Attorney General in the Civil Rights section as well as the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio (ACLU-Ohio), Emily became deeply entrenched in fighting for people’s rights.
Emily earned her Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School and is admitted to practice in Ohio. She is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Columbus Bar Association.
Before deciding to attend law school, Emily completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati. The day after graduation, Emily packed up and moved to Washington, D.C. to work in non-profit advocacy. While at Capital University Law School, Emily was a member of the Moot Court National Team. During that time, she entered several moot court competitions and was recognized as a top advocate.
Outside of the office, Emily spends time with her husband and dog, Fred. She enjoys cooking, watching sports, and wrangling her awesome niece and nephew.
